"Tarumaa...Just listen to me! I m not gonna leave you alone and go anywhere"
"What’s this Arun? Your best friend is hosting a bachelor's party and how could you just stay back?"
"But how could I leave you alone at this time of night?"
"That’s not a problem, you just go there, have fun and come back around midnight, I can wait for you, no problem"
"No way, I am not going...you know that I m not gonna booze also, then why should I go there? I know how much you will be worried till I get back"
Tarini just started pushing him towards the door,
"I m not gonna worry about anything, I know you will take care of yourself, I don’t want any of our friends to go around telling, Tarini has banned Arun from partying and having fun with his dear friends"
"Tarumaa...please listen to me daa"
"No, you are going now, right now...or else I m gonna slam down the door on you" she was standing with that pleasant smile on her face, he had no option but to obey his sweet heart's orders.
"Ok…Your wish, will be back very soon, will call you once I reach there, keep the doors latched, take care...ok?"
"Ok, ok...you first start"
Tarini switched on the TV after Arun left, but she was not concentrating on the soap which was going on, her mind started floating towards the past.
It was the time when her parents had just started looking out for grooms' profiles for her wedding. One morning, her dad was very happy and in a swinging mood he told her,
"Taru dear, I’ve got hold of a very good match for you, such a respectable family they are…And you know what? The guy is from your college only"
"From my college? Who’s that pa?"
"His name is Arun"
"Arun....hmm, you know which batch?"
"I don’t know all that, his photo was somewhere here only, haan see this, have you seen him in college"
The very first reaction that she gave was a disgusting look to the photo. Taru's dad too noticed her face, "What happened Tarini? Do you know him already?"
"Yeah, I know him, he’s my own class mate and…I really hate him..."
"Hate him? What’s so bad about him that my sweet daughter is finding totally wrong?"
"I can’t list down all those things pa, all the girls in my class hate him and above all he’s a big boozer"
Her dad started laughing, "Tarini! Its all just your girlish perceptions about that fellow, you girls really don’t know what a guy's world is in his teenage, he is 26 now and I am sure he would’ve come out of all those fantasies, given that he is in such a good position now, just boozing and roaming around wouldn't have brought him to such a high position in such an young age, and you are also 25 years old, and you can very well reconsider the opinion you had about him in your teenage"
"No pa, I am not sure..."
"Why don't you just talk to him once Tarini? Then you can decide... I am not forcing you, it’s your life, but give him a fair chance, I’ve already told his parents that you'll talk to their son"
"Ok pa, I’ll just talk to him..."
And for the first time they spoke. Even during her college days, not even once Tarini had ever dared to speak to him.
"Hai Tarini! How are you? Long time, no see"
"Yeah, I am fine, how are you?"
"Good, ok let me ask you straight away, personally I know the opinion you girls had on me, I am not blaming that anyways, I was damn sure that you will turn me down when I learned about this alliance from my dad, but I was quite surprised that you even agreed to speak to me..."
"Actually Arun, my dad just asked me to speak to you"
"Oh I See…All I wanted to know is…Is everything happening with your consent? Or somebody is forcing you do things? Then please do tell me Tarini, I’ll take care that this doesn't proceed any further"
"Nothing like that Arun, no one is forcing me"
"Ok then, I am relieved now, and first of all, thanks Tarini for not turning me down right away, coz I would’ve been answerable to my parents about what I did in college or rather what I did not do in college" and he laughed.
They then spoke about a few general things, and finally Arun said
"I know what thoughts will be going on in your mind now Tarini, everybody knows that I boozed a lot in college days, if that’s the only thing which is bothering you, let me tell you something, I don’t fancy consuming alcohol anymore, I don’t mean that I’ve totally come out of it, but I am just a social drinker now"
"No Arun, that’s not the problem actually..."
"Oh...then what were the other stories going on about me? Tell me, I m very interested to know" and he was all about to laugh
"Actually, it’s your attitude towards girls, we have always felt you’ve got a very bad opinion about girls in general and..."
He started laughing really hard that she just couldn't continue speaking.
"By any chance, did I tell any of you people about my opinion about girls? How come you girls are so clever that you got such a good opinion about me?"
"No Arun...actually..."
"Hey listen, to tell you the truth, I had no special bad opinions about girls so far...but one thing is for sure, I’ve a very good opinion about you, not only me, all our friends and even our professors, I would consider myself extremely lucky if I could have your hands in mine, I don’t know whether I can be a perfect spouse like you, but I can assure that I’ll be a good friend to you through out”
Tarini came to the present with the chimes of door bell, she thought, who s that at this time? It’s only an hour after he left.
It was none other than Arun…
"What’s this Arun? You are back so soon…"
"I just couldn't stay there leaving you alone Tarummaa, so I just greeted him and rushed back"
She could not reply back anything as she was lost in his warm hug.

Love Potion - 1
Note: This is not exactly a story, just a few random scenes put together...

Preeti was almost in tears then; she was talking to her best friend Tarini over phone.
"Are you mad...?"
"No...Not exactly"
"Don't play Taru, just listen! I guess you are not in your right minds now, why did you take such a hasty decision now? You are still young, you can very well wait for a better guy, infact you will get the best guy on earth, don’t end up settling down with a ... hell yaar! I just can’t imagine only!!! Please don’t play with your own life Taru"
"No Preety, I’ve taken my decision and already conveyed it to my parents and things are gonna start now"
"So what? Just get back to them and tell them that you are not all that ok with the whole thing, nothing has started yet...ok? This is high time you voice your actual opinion"
"No Preety! Something tells me that I am going to lead to an equally happy life like now even after the wedding"
"Oh God! Taru...this is your life! I just can’t imagine such things happening to my best friend di" Preety just bursted out very hard.
"Cool down Preety, I’ve already thought over this so many times, this is not a hasty decision by any chance...my parents are very much confident on his family background and his character and I am confident on my parents..."
"Bull shit! Character, bloody! Don’t you know about him already? Don’t you know that he is one totally rotten human? Above all how can you ever digest his rubbish attitude towards girls?"
"No Preety, those were just our perceptions about him..."
"Just stop, those were not just perceptions, its solid truth and everybody knows that, if you have got amnesia by any chance, then let me remind you about him. he is one goddamn boozer who cant pass even a single day without boozing, he is one nasty bloke with too much of attitude who never even bothers to attend classes or respect girls or even staff, I just cant imagine my sweet friend with such a damn fellow"
"I am sorry Preety, I’ve already taken my decision and am just informing you now, I am not seeking any advice from you"
"Then go to hell!!! I'll tell you one final thing, you are digging your own pit! That’s all" and she slammed the phone down.
Just like tears rolled down her cheeks, her memories too rolled back to their college life.
Preety and Tarini were small town girls who jelled on very well just on the first day of their college.Almost the whole class was friends to these warm and cheerful girls.
There was one gang of dudes in their own class, whom all the girls considered really disgusting. They were the guys who lived their life king size all the time, never bothered to attend classes or pass the exams, all that was interesting to them was boozing and roaming around.
This guy called Arun was considered to be the most trouble some of the whole lot, all the girls somehow had a deep hatred towards him or rather a sense of fear.
And for Arun, life was nothing but enjoyment in a meaningless way, he also knew the kind of opinion his own classmates had about him, but he never really bothered about the whole thing, obviously it was no big deal to him.
And now, she can’t really digest that her dearest friend is gonna marry that rotten Arun. Now that it’s actually happening, she had no option but to pray that her friend’s hopes should not be shattered.
And the wedding was finally coming nearer, most of Tarini and Arun's friends were present in the wedding reception the evening before their wedding.
All of them couldn't help comparing the striking difference between the two.
Tarini, the sweet angel everyone likes, a regular student really attentive in classes, who had never even done a single mischief in whole of her life, totally loyal to her parents with a fair, beautiful, radiant and smiling face.
And Arun, the demon in the view of all Tarini's friends and even in the view of Tarini during college days, who has never attended all classes in a row, a silly bloke who goes to any extent of cheating his parents just to booze and roam around with a dark complexioned and tough face.
Tarini felt a lump in her stomach, tomorrow is THE DAY, her whole life is gonna change. Till now life has been really good, she has got the best of everything, caring parents, sweet little brother, affectionate friends, a rocking career and what not. But now, the success or failure of the rest of her whole life just lies in his bare hands. As an excited bride she could do nothing but to spend a sleepless night just waiting for a new dawn.

Pullarikkudhu paa...
Just happened to watch this movie called velli thirai...
Very surprising that it was not much talked of when it got released (or may be I didn’t know)
Some grass itching dialogues from the movie…
When there s a little clash between the hero n heroine, the heroine tells this
சின்ன சின்ன பார்வைகளால உண்டாகற காதல்
சின்ன சின்ன வார்த்தைகளால சிதைஞ்சிற கூடாது....
After marriage, Gopika leaves pritivi for some noble reason and pritivi really doesn’t know why she ditched him. One day, she finds him on the road n gets down from her car to meet him, then pritivi tells
நான் உன் மேல வச்சுருக்க காதல் உண்மை,
என் மேல கொஞ்சாமாவது மதிப்பு இருந்தா
வழில பாக்கும் போது கூட என் முன்னாடி வராத!!!
And finally in the climax, when gopika tries to explain why she actually left him, pritivi just refuses to listen and tells
சேந்து வாழ்ந்தாலும், பிரிஞ்சு அழுதாலும்
காதல் காதல் தான்...
These are the few things which i cud remember, infact the movie s full of such good dialogues...
